28 March 2019

SYLWIA KOCH-KOPYSZKO, PRESIDENT OF UPEBI, ELECTED TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF EBA

On 27th March this year, the General Meeting of EBA (European Biogas Association) members took place in Brussels, during which Sylwia Koch-Kopyszko, the President of UPEBI, was elected to the Board of Directors of this leading European organization actively promoting biogas and biomethane. For over 10 years, EBA has been working effectively for the development of biogas and biomethane markets in Europe and worldwide. It has more than 100 members representing all major national associations and organizations of biogas and biomethane power plant owners, recognized research institutes working on innovative technological solutions in the field of biogas and biomethane and companies with a leading share in the biogas and biomethane energy market in the world. EBA shall be actively involved in the development of EU legislation affecting the production of biogas and biomethane. One of the EBA’s priorities shall be to raise awareness of the important role that biogas and biomethane can play in achieving the European Union's climate and energy objectives and in the transition to a closed-loop economy. The presence of the first representative of the new Europe in the EBA is both a recognition of the biogas potential of our part of the continent and the success of Polish biogas producers, thanks to the President Sylwia Koch-Kopyszko, who is actively involved in activities at the European level.
