TWO TOASTS AND TWO AWARDS AT GREEN GAS POLAND 2022

14 October 2022

The 4th International Conference of Biogas and Biomethane Producers GREEN GAS POLAND 2022 took place in Warsaw on 6 - 7 X this year and brought together around one hundred and fifty participants from home and abroad.  The annual industry conference, organised by the Union of Producers and Employers of the Biogas and Biomethane Industry (UPEBBI), is the country's premier business meeting and content briefing for the biogas and biomethane sector.

At the gala dinner crowning the first day of the conference, two special toasts were given and two industry awards were presented.

UPEBBI President Artur Zawisza toasted the 10th anniversary of the Union of Producers and Employers of the Biogas and Biomethane Industry, which was founded in 2012 as the Union of Producers and Employers of the Biogas Industry. Over its ten years of operation, UPEBBI has been successful both in bringing together the largest number of members in the industry and
industry, as well as carrying out a wide range of substantive work in the form of analyses, opinions, seminars, workshops
and conferences. Particularly important and valuable was the legislative contribution consisting in substantive proposals and statutory projects being the beginning of amendments to the Energy Law and the Law on Renewable Energy Sources and Related Laws. The activities of the three-term boards, first with President Sylwia Koch-Kopyszko and then with
headed by President Artur Zawisza, led to UPEBBI's current key position in the biogas and biomethane sector.

Mieczyslaw Kreczman, as coordinator of UPEBBI's insurance programme, gave a toast on the occasion of the 50th installation covered by the programme. The jubilee installation belongs to PGB Energetyka 15 and is located in Przyborowice in the municipality of Gubin
in the Lubuskie Voivodeship. The toast-maker emphasised the importance of the insurance programme in a difficult and uncertain insurance market and declared the effectiveness of this insurance formula. At the same time, the insured company was presented with a commemorative award by him to mark a significant anniversary in the industry.

The biogas plant of the year 2022 is the installation owned by Bio-Nik Elektra sp. z o.o.
based in Grodziec (Prabuty post office), which operates a biogas plant with a capacity of 0.999 MW
in Kisielice in the district of Iława in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship. Taking the floor, the president of Bio-Nik Elektra sp. z o.o. Waldemar Przechadzki expressed his delight at receiving the award and shared with the industry dinner participants his satisfaction
of using a well-functioning biogas plant. At the same time, he drew attention to the exemplary cooperation between the biogas plant and the city of Kisielice, as the plant is located next to the city's boiler room and the heat generated in high-efficiency cogeneration is used for the city's heating needs, something which the mayor of Kisielice has also repeatedly boasted about.

The Biogas Supplier of the Year was Nanosens sp. z o.o., based in Wysogotowo

in the municipality of Tarnowo Podgórne in the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship. The reason for the award was that Nanosens sp. z o.o. is the manufacturer of the most recognisable stationary gas analysers on the Polish market. "Biotex multipower is a product appreciated by many customers, whose number is constantly growing. Nanosens develops its products using the latest technological developments and adapting the devices to emerging new needs". - proclaims the justification provided by the award chapter. On behalf of the company, sales specialist Magdalena Ciesielska thanked the award, emphasising that in addition to biogas plants, Nanosens' multipower stabiliser is also in operation at the Trzebinia refinery, for example.
